Dear American Choral friends<
Please see below an exciting opportunity to be part of a new biennial event in London, England. I realise that the timing is unlikely to suit US University Choirs, but would you kindly help by forwarding this to any choir, American or other, who you think might be able to be in Europe in October 2018? Many thanks, Mark Griffiths.

An open invitation to a top quality chamber choir to perform at London’s Royal Academy of Music, as part of an exciting new London Festival featuring a choral conducting competition……
We announce an opportunity for a high quality touring choir to share in the inaugural London International Choral Conducting Competition (2018). The Festival will take place at London’s renowned Royal Academy of Music on Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st October 2018.
Curated by Coro and Chantage, two of London’s premier chamber choirs, the two-day event will revolve around two interlocking threads, one a Gala Concert by Chantage, Coro and our Guest Choir in the splendid Duke’s Hall at the RAM, and the second a high quality competition for emerging choral conductors. The winner, chosen by a distinguished international jury and the choirs themselves, will receive a valuable cash prize. This ground-breaking initiative, the UK’s first ever choral conducting competition, will lend a significant boost to a conductor in the early stages of their career, and is sure to attract entries from an international field.
Our Guest Choir will ideally number 30-50 voices (SATB) and will need to be in London, at their own expense, for the two days involved, although generous hospitality will be offered. Rehearsals will be conducted in English. If you are planning a European choir tour then this opportunity to perform in one of London’s most prestigious venues, and to be central to our innovative competition, might be a perfect starting point.
