The San Francisco Bach Choir, directed by Magen Solomon, continues its 80th anniversary celebration with two performances of J.S. Bach’s magnificent Mass in B-Minor. Concerts will be in San Francisco and for the first time in ten years, Berkeley.
Be transported by Bach’s timeless masterpiece — a veritable compendium of 100 years of musical style, from Renaissance motets to the latest Italianate fashion — all knit into a glorious unified whole. Perhaps the greatest choral work ever written, the Mass in B-Minor offers a journey of heart and soul; intimate, dazzling, tender, and powerful. Although universally recognized as a pinnacle of human creativity, at its core this work is a personal expression of spiritual devotion that transcends religious boundaries.
