The award-winning Susquehanna Chorale will conclude its season with “Roots & Wings,” its spring concert series, sponsored by University Music Service in Hershey. Performances are May 11 at Derry Presbyterian Church in Hershey, Pa., and May 12 at Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Conductor Linda L. Tedford has created a program that explores the roots – spiritual, relational, historical and musical – that give us wings soar.
The Susquehanna Chorale, founded by Tedford in 1981, is a nationally-recognized adult chamber ensemble of 35 singers, chosen by audition.
Featured selections will include Only in Sleep (Esenvalds), Cantique de Jean Racine (Faure), Remember Me (Chilcott), Come, Sweet Death (Bach) and selections from Old American Songs (Copland).
Tickets and concert details are available through the Chorale’s Web site, www.susquehannachorale.org, or by calling the Messiah College box office, (717) 691-6036.
The Susquehanna Chorale is ensemble-in-Residence at Messiah College. The Chorale is funded, in part, by the Cultural Enrichment Fund, the capital region’s united arts fund, and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
