“The Song Continues,” Mankato Children’s Chorus 25th Anniversary Concert
Christ Chapel; Gustavus Adolphus College; St. Peter, MN
“The Song Continues” 3:00pm Sunday, May 5, 2019
The Mankato Children’s Chorus under the Artistic Direction of Leah Ries will present their annual spring concert celebrating 25 years of children singing together in the south, central Minnesota region.
The Mankato Children’s Chorus consists of five choirs beginning in first grade through high school. MCC is a non auditioned choir that brings together any interested youth to experience the joy of singing while developing healthy vocal techniques.
The concert will feature “The Singer,” a commissioned work by Dr. David Dickau with text by his wife, Anne. This beautiful piece that celebrates who we are as singers has been written to bring together the five choirs of MCC in addition to a parent and alumni choir that will be singing on the concert as well.
Special guests at this concert are Dr. Marin Jacobson, founding director and Julie Aune, past Artistic Director. The lovely space of Christ Chapel at Gustavus Adolphus College is the perfect setting to celebrate and share over one hundred children’s voices. Tickets for the concert are available at the door.
