I am trying to discover if there exist recordings that included the piano virtuoso and educator, Carl (or Karl) Herring (1891-1967), or if there are collections that include his papers.
He was a piano virtuoso originally from Vienna, performing about 1906-1915, then came to the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in 1915, apparently at the invitation of Mme. Marguerite Melville Liszniewska.
His friend and faculty colleague, Robert Perutz, the violinist, recorded several 78 RPM recordings for the Gennett Record Company in 1923-1924 that may have had Herring on piano.
Thank you for your interest and help.
