We have both a flutist and a violinist as well as our pianist available to us for our Christmas concerts this year. They are all excellent musicians and would like to play a piece together as an introduction to our Choral concert. Does anyone have any suggestions for this trio? The piece does not necessarily have to be a Christmas piece. To round out the information: we are a French community choir, and the venues for our concerts will be churches.October 5, 2017 at 9:33 am #543388
Did you get my suggestion re ‘Rise up. Shepherd’? (It’s not showing up here!)October 5, 2017 at 9:33 am #543389
May I suggest “Gesu Bambino?” This arrangement for flute, horn and piano would work substituting a violin for horn up an octave. here’s a link: http://artofsoundmusic.com/solo-horn/gesu-bambino
Similar are arrangements of Ives’ lovely “Little Star of Bethlehem” and Sweden’s beloved “Yule, Yule” also available at Art of Sound Music:
Contact me if you’d like help creating a violin part. thanks, chris hoh
