I am renaming my gender specific named choirs and I am having great difficulty. I don’t want cliche names nor names that are too esoteric. I have given the assignment to my students and they came up with all sorts of Latin names or names that were too “cutesy.” So I am really stuck. I have a Men’s Choir, Beginning Women’s and Advanced Women’s Choirs and we really need to change them. If you anyone is up for discussing this I sure would appreciate the help. Thanks!

You might consider using the historical and geographical names associated with your area and high school: founders of the community, great teachers & administrators, neighborhood & street names, that kind of thing.
Don’t dismiss the ideas of the kids too quickly: two of my middle school choirs came up with “Unity” and “Concordia” (although it quickly became “Guys with Ties” & “Gals with Pals”).
Hope that helps!
