I have an a cappella setting of Shakespeare’s Sonnet 128. I’ve copied the text below. Contact me if you’d like a copy of the score and a wonderful recording by the Vancouver Chamber Choir.
How oft, when thou, my music, music play’st,
Upon that blessed wood whose motion sounds
With thy sweet fingers, when thou gently sway’st
The wiry concord that mine ear confounds,
Do I envy those jacks that nimble leap
To kiss the tender inward of thy hand,
Whilst my poor lips, which should that harvest reap,
At the wood’s boldness by thee blushing stand!
To be so tickled, they would change their state
And situation with those dancing chips,
O’er whom thy fingers walk with gentle gait,
Making dead wood more blest than living lips.
Since saucy jacks so happy are in this,
Give them thy fingers, me thy lips to kiss.January 19, 2018 at 11:15 pm #553686
I didn’t see your question or your name in the posting above, but on the assumption that you are looking for a Valentine’s Day choral piece, please check out my “Love and Chocolate”, a sweet funny novelty with a big ending, SATB with piano and optional flute. (There is also an orchestral accompaniment version.)
You can see/hear it here: http://www.davidavshalomov.com/musical-works/chorus/
I publish in inexpensive pdfs.
Please contact me offline, firstname.lastname@example.org if the piece would be of use to you.
