Don R. Campbell

● Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina http://www.swu.edu. In demand as a choral clinician, Dr. Campbell has traveled to fourteen states, Canada, Scotland, New Zealand, and Australia to conduct choirs and festival choruses and present choral clinics. Prior to his appointment at SWU in 1998, he taught vocal music for 20 years at Redwood High School in Visalia, California—building the program to 300 students in five choirs. He currently conducts the Chorale of the Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium—a group of eighty singers with orchestra. As a barbershopper since 1979, Campbell is now in his eighteenth year on the faculty of Harmony University and currently serves as the Dean of the Directors College. In addition, Dr. Campbell has directed music at several churches in California and South Carolina. Campbell has also had leading roles in community theatre productions of Man of La Mancha and Fiddler on the Roof. He is recipient of the first Ken Dickens Award for Excellence in Teaching for 2003 and Southern Wesleyan University’s Faculty Member of the Year for 2003-4.
