Martin Benvenuto takes over Contra Costa Children’s Chorus

October 6, 2011 by Allen H Simon Leave a Comment

“There was a part of me that was missing kids making music in my life,” he said simply about why he pursued the position.

His goals are more elaborate.

“I am seeking high standards of performance and to deliver a professional level show,” he stated. “I understand singing as a full engagement of all the parts of our body in the performance. It’s not only a physical thing, it’s a spiritual thing.”

These two comments are a good representation of Benvenuto — American practicality mingled with Argentine passion and mysticism.
