University of Toronto Choral Conducting Symposium
for school, community and church choral musicians
July 5 – 8, 2016
General Registration Deadline is JUNE 1
U of T’s annual choral symposium features Dr. Rollo Dilworth, Professor of Music at Temple Uiversity, clinician, with U of T faculty members, Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt (master class clinician), Dr. Lori-Ann Dolloff (community singing and intermediate conducting), and soprano Elizabeth McDonald (vocal pedagogy and individual voice instruction). Come and join us in a friendly, supportive environment! U.S. residents will find the Canadian dollar a great bargain this summer. Toronto is a wonderful city with many amenities and is easily accessible by air, rail or car.
Members of Viva! Youth Choir (Carol Ratzlaff, conductor), will work with Dr. Dilworth as he demonstrates rehearsal strategies for adolescent singers. Other topics include choral repertoire and resources, choral pedagogy and conducting, and vocal technique. Symposium participants will rehearse varied repertoire daily with Dr. Dilworth in the Directors’ Chorus.
On-campus housing is available at Massey College: www.masseycollege.ca (under summer rentals.)
