We at Musica Russica are delighted at the news that three of this year’s five nominees in the category Best Choral Performance feature Russian choral works. We played a direct role in two of the recordings—Alexander Kastalsky’s “Memory Eternal” by the Clarion Choir was recorded using our publication of that work; we also publish 6 of the 15 titles on the album “Teach Me Thy Statutes,” works by Pavel Chesnokov, as recorded by the Patriarch Tikhon Institute Men’s Choir. We also can provide the other titles upon request, as our President, Vladimir Morosan, sang on the album.
The third recording features Sergei Rachmaninoff’s cantata “The Bells,” for which we recently published a newly edited piano-vocal score. Our heartiest congratulations go out to Maestros Steven Fox, Vladimir Gorbik, and Mariss Jansons and to their superb performers!
